I grew up as a cowboy on a ranch in Northern California. No joke. After an ill-fated cattle drive that involved a UFO, a unicycle and a heifer in heat, I decided to head to the big city and go into advertising. That big city is currently NYC, my favorite big city.
Now, instead of roping and branding the delicious future steaks of America, I help brand world-renowned companies, some of whose products are quite delicious. While doing so, I've had the pleasure of working with some phenomenally talented clients and colleagues.
I believe in ideas that real people love. Not just ad juries (awards are great and all). I believe in creating stuff that makes people laugh. Stuff they'll remember and want to share with their friends. Stuff that will help brands break through the clutter. Sometimes that stuff is an ad, but no matter what form it takes, there is always an insight, there is always strategy and there is always collaboration. Great ideas don’t thrive without those three things.
So there you go. From cattle wrangler to idea wrangler, and a robustly awarded one at that. You might've even seen some of my ideas in publications from the ad rags to The New York Times to major foreign publications that I can't pronounce properly.
Otherwise, I love long hikes, camping in the wilderness and pretending I'm in The Revenant, minus all the blood, anguish and tragedy. So I guess I don't really like pretending I'm in The Revenant. Let's just say I love the outdoors. I also love traveling, skiing, my wife, my daughter, my silly dog, and of course, writing.
I also love the original Indiana Jones trilogy.
